SpellBands is for children aged about 5–11, controlled by you. Accounts and purchases are for adults.
1. You are in control
- You create child profiles on your device, not the child.
- Profiles use a nickname and an age band (e.g. 6–7), not a date of birth.
- Progress stays on your device unless you use optional online features described in our Privacy Policy.
- You can edit or delete profiles in the app at any time.
2. What children are not asked for
No email, password, phone number, photo, or precise location is required to play.
3. What you agree to
By creating a profile or allowing a child to play, you confirm that you:
- Are the parent, guardian, or have authority to consent.
- Have read the Privacy Policy and What we collect.
- Consent to local storage of the child's display name, age band, and learning progress for educational gameplay.
- Will supervise purchases and external links.
4. Purchases
Checkout and the Parent Dashboard require a parental gate (maths question). Use device-level purchase controls as well (Screen Time, Google Family Link).
5. Marketing
We do not use children's spelling activity for behavioural ads. Website marketing cookies (Meta Pixel) are optional and adult-facing, reject them in the cookie banner.
6. Your rights
You may exercise UK GDPR rights for your child. Delete profiles in-app, clear app data, or email privacy@spellbands.co.uk.
7. Schools
Educators should use nicknames and obtain appropriate school/parent permission before creating identifiable profiles.
