The short version: No optional cookies are stored unless you click Accept on our banner. Ignoring or closing the banner has the same effect as clicking Reject: no marketing cookies will be set. This is required by UK and EU law.
1. What the law says about ignoring our banner
Under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), consent for non-essential cookies must be a freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous affirmative action. Silence, inactivity, or closing the page does not count as consent.
This means:
- If you ignore the banner: no marketing cookies are stored.
- If you close the page without choosing: no marketing cookies are stored.
- If you click Reject: your choice is saved and no marketing cookies are stored.
- Only if you click Accept do we load the Meta Pixel and set advertising cookies.
Our banner will reappear on your next visit if you have not made a choice. This is intentional: we cannot assume consent.
2. Strictly necessary storage (no consent needed)
These are required for the app to function and are exempt from consent requirements under PECR.

4. Your choices and rights
- Reject on the banner: click Reject when the banner appears. Your choice is saved for 365 days.
- Ignore the banner: no marketing cookies are set. The banner will reappear next visit.
- Withdraw consent at any time: clear your browser's site data for spellbands.co.uk. The banner will reappear and you can choose again.
- Opt out of Meta advertising: Facebook ad settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.
- Browser-level control: most browsers let you block or delete cookies in Settings → Privacy.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
5. Mobile apps
Our native iOS and Android apps use on-device storage only for gameplay. They do not show this web cookie banner and do not load the Meta Pixel. App Store and Google Play purchases are processed by Apple and Google respectively.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update the date above when this policy changes. Material changes affecting your consent will prompt the banner to reappear.
